Vignette Spread Design of a Short Story, 2022

This assignment from my book illustration course challenged me to use a spread format and create vignette illustrations for an excerpt from a text passage that captured the essence of transformation, progression, and the passage of time. The chosen excerpt is from a short story written by Christina Wither called “Wake Up Mum”.

I carefully crafted each vignette, ensuring that each image conveyed a unique moment in time and told a story in its own right. By combining these moments, I created a cohesive narrative that captured the text passage's essence and conveyed complex ideas through visuals that seamlessly flowed from one vignette to the next.
